LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

IMG_5438.jpg

What type of removal equipment do you use?

The tattoo removal equipment used at Black Throne Laser Removal is a

Quanta Asset Nd:YAG Q-Switch Laser, it is the most sophisticated and powerful machine available. It is a high powered, 2 wavelength Q-Switched system. The combination of wavelengths efficiently targets all tattoo ink colours and pigmented lesions.

How does the Nd:YAG Q-Switched Laser remove the tattoo ink pigment?

The Nd:YAG Q-Switched Laser emits high energy light pulses that pass through the skin and are absorbed by the tattoo ink pigment, which breaks up and fragments the pigment.

The fragmented pigment is then absorbed by the white blood cells and taken to the liver for disposal via the lymphatic system. This continues to happen gradually over time until the fragmented pigment is gone

Is the process painful?

In short, yes. The laser releases light energy in very short, intense pulses. If comparing the pain to that of being tattooed, most say it’s worse. However the removal session is significantly shorter than that of the original tattoo.

Any discomfort usually disappears within a week or two (on an average healthy person with good circulation). The skin will return to its natural colour and texture after the redness and dry skin disappears.

*For those with a low tolerance for pain we recommend you consult a pharmacist for numbing cream.

How many treatments will I need?

That depends on a few things i.e. age of tattoo, colour of tattoo, skin type and whether the goal is to lighten for a cover up tattoo, or complete removal of a tattoo is desired. These are the main factors that will determine the number of treatments needed.
